Aqualyx breaks down the membrane of the fat cells it’s injected into, and your lymphatic system clears them over the following weeks. Those particular cells don’t come back, which is what makes the result permanent provided your weight stays reasonably stable. What it isn’t is a faster version of liposuction.
Expect a course of two to four sessions spaced around four weeks apart, and expect genuine swelling for several days after each one. It’s also only the right treatment if the fullness under your chin is actually fat. Where the cause is loose skin or a recessed chin creating the appearance of fullness, fat dissolving won’t help, and we’ll say so at consultation rather than sell you a course of it.

Yes, significant swelling is a normal and expected part of the fat dissolving process. It means the product is working. Swelling peaks at 48 hours and subsides over the next week.
Yes. The body does not create new fat cells. Once Aqualyx destroys a fat cell, it is gone forever. As long as you don't gain a significant amount of weight (which expands remaining cells), the results are permanent.
