Filler dissolving

Expert correction for unwanted or migrated filler. We use Hyalase to safely dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers, restoring your natural look or preparing for a refill.

Filler dissolving

Reversibility is the safety net

The fact that hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved is one of the strongest arguments for using it in the first place. People come to us for correction after migration, lumps, a bluish cast under the eyes, or asymmetry, and sometimes simply because they want to return to their own face and start again.

One thing to understand before you book: Hyalase dissolves the hyaluronic acid in the area it reaches, which includes some of your own alongside the filler. That resolves on its own, but it means the area can look flatter than expected for a couple of weeks before it settles. A patch test is required beforehand, and we’d usually wait at least two weeks before placing anything new.

Correcting Past Treatments

Ideally, dermal fillers should look natural and undetectable. However, filler can sometimes migrate, form lumps, or be placed incorrectly, resulting in an "overfilled" or distorted appearance. Fortunately, Hyaluronic Acid fillers are not permanent and can be reversed.

The Hyalase Procedure

We use Hyalase (Hyaluronidase), an enzyme that breaks down the cross-linked hyaluronic acid almost immediately. The body then naturally absorbs the liquid.

  • Migration: Treating "filler moustache" above the lip.
  • Tyndall Effect: Correcting blueish swelling under the eyes.
  • Asymmetry: Fixing uneven results.

A patch test is required prior to treatment to ensure no allergic reaction to the enzyme occurs.

FAQs

Can I dissolve my fillers if I don't like them?

Yes, Hyaluronic Acid fillers can be safely and quickly dissolved using an enzyme called Hyalase if the results are unsatisfactory, migrated, or if a correction is needed.

Can I dissolve under-eye filler if it looks puffy?

Yes, if you have had filler placed elsewhere that has drawn in water or looks puffy (the Tyndall effect), we can safely dissolve it using Hyalase.
