Not every double chin is fat

But fat is only one of the possible causes. Loose skin can create the same heaviness, and a recessed chin or undefined jawline can produce the appearance of fullness where there’s very little fat at all.
Where it genuinely is fat, dissolving injections permanently break down those cells over a course of two to four sessions. It’s worth knowing upfront that swelling is significant for the first few days after each session, and results take four to six weeks to appear as your body clears the treated fat. Where the cause is structure or skin laxity, fat dissolving is the wrong tool entirely — and we’ll tell you that rather than sell you a course of it.

Understanding Submental Fullness
A "double chin" (submental fullness) is one of the most common aesthetic concerns. Crucially, it is not always related to weight. Genetics play a massive role in how our bodies store fat, and many fit, healthy individuals find they have a stubborn pocket of fat under the jaw that no amount of exercise can shift.
Non-Surgical Fat Dissolving (Adipocytolysis)
We use Aqualyx, a safe, biocompatible compound based on deoxycholic acid—a substance your body naturally produces to digest fat.
- The Mechanism: When injected into the subcutaneous fat, Aqualyx disrupts the cell membrane of the fat cells. This causes the cell to break down and release its lipid content.
- The Elimination: Your body's lymphatic system recognizes the broken-down fat as waste and naturally metabolizes and excretes it over the following 4–6 weeks.
Permanent Contouring
This is a permanent treatment. Once a fat cell is destroyed, the body does not regenerate it. As long as you maintain a relatively stable weight, your new, sharper jawline profile is here to stay. Most clients require 2–4 sessions to achieve their ideal contour.
